Meta introduce Llama 2 Ai

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has unveiled Llama 2, the next generation of its open-source large language model.

Llama 2 is freely available for research and commercial use, and Microsoft has been chosen as the preferred partner for this project.

The aim is to promote open innovation and democratize access to AI models, allowing businesses, startups, researchers, and entrepreneurs to experiment and innovate.

Llama 2 can be accessed through Microsoft Azure’s AI model catalog and is optimized for use on Windows. It is also available through other providers like Amazon Web Services.

The partnership between Meta and Microsoft extends beyond AI into the metaverse, focusing on immersive experiences for work and play.

Meta emphasizes responsible development and provides resources such as red-teaming exercises, transparency schematics, a responsible use guide, and an acceptable use policy.

The company has also launched an Open Innovation AI Research Community and a Llama Impact Challenge to encourage responsible use and innovation.

Meta’s goal is to foster transparency, safety, and access in AI development, following their successful history of open-source contributions with frameworks like React and PyTorch.

The company is excited to see the innovative applications that will be built using Llama 2.
